Sunshine Coast 'raining fire' as bushfires continue

QUEENSLAND'S Sunshine Coast paradise now a never-ending nightmare for residents as bushfires continue to spread.
Queensland Police are urging residents to refrain from sharing unconfirmed information that can lead to widespread panic and further strain on police resources.
In a Facebook post QPS says that they will keep current updates on the situation, "our agencies (including Queensland Fire and Emergency Services) are the single point of truth on the bushfire emergency in Queensland."
An emergency situation has been declared in the southeast as authorities call it the 'worst start to bushfire season' in Queensland history.
Firefighters are desperately working to contain the blaze which has been made worse by strong winds.
Peregian Beach and Marcus Beach residents have been told to 'leave immediately' as the devastation continues.

There are over 80 blazes currently in Queensland as the fire continues to head North-Easterly toward Peregian Beach.
Three teenagers have been taken in for questioning after screenshots indicating they were allegedly responsible for arson were discovered.
The screenshots taken from a chatroom showed the teens boasting about starting the Peregian fire on Monday afternoon.
Peregian Beach Surf and Lifesaving Club have stated on their Facebook page that they had been sent the screenshots and that they boys had handed themselves in after the screenshot had been shared around by friends.
Police have confirmed that they are questioning the boys about the fire started in bushland off Koel Circuit, but could not confirm this came as a result of the screenshots. No charges have been laid.
A vegetation fire at Miles End near Mount Isa is also burning with more on the Granite Belt around Stanthorpe, Applethorpe and Ballandean as well as the Gold Coast.
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has expressed her utmost support towards emergency services working to battle the disaster and says her thoughts "are with the people at home."

Premier Palaszczuk had flown to Lausanne, Switzerland over the weekend to meet with International Olympic Committee bosses in hope the 2032 Olympic Games could be held in Brisbane.
The premier has left Switzerland early to return to the fire-stricken state in its time of need.
